HGVs causing bottlenecks by passing each other

Apologies if this has been posted before , but can someone (hopefully
an HGV driver) tell me why HGV drivers seem to think its such a good
thing to pass each other on busy dual carraigeways and motorways with
what seems to be a 1mph or less speed difference and taking a mile or
so to do it in the process? Why bother? Does it really matter if the
guy in front is doing 55 and you want to do 56? How much difference to
your journey will that 1mph make? I'll tell you how much , for a trip
of 56 miles you'll arrive slightly more than 1 minute earlier at 56mph
that if you were doing 55. BFD.

So really , why do you guys do it and just hold up literally hundreds
of cars and other vehicles behind you? Is it just bloody mindedness
because you're bored and need a laugh or what?

And if you are going to pass , has it ever occured to you to do it
*downhill* where you might be able to pick up a bit of speed instead
of uphill? Or is this all rocket science and people at NASA are
studying the problem right now?

Might I respectfully suggest you take quick look at the postings of a
"Doug".
He takes bad taste to all time low levels.

Who's trolling? I drive a lot and I see it happening frequently. If
you want to pretend otherwise thats up to you but for those of us who
live and drive in the real world its a fact, and a damn annoying one
in the rush hour.

Btw , you obvious lack of ability with the english language and to
argue the point seneibly rather confirms my suspicions about truckers.
Hey ho.
