Yes most movies are now on dual layer but as far as I know such
recordable discs are not used for video cameras and indeed they seem to
be in very short supply on the shelves of computer and other shops. My
guess is that dual layer recordable discs would make it too easy to
copy the rented movies, as no compression would be involved.
