Seems some drivers are to join the ranks of public demonstrators, who
are much despised by motorists on this newsgroup, unless it is on an
issue that affects them of course.
"Hauliers' leaders last night raised the prospect of a return to the
blockades after Gordon Brown slapped the first of three tax rises on
fuel that sent the price up to around £1 a litre.
They said lorry drivers were angry at the 2p-a-litre increase and that
the further rises - totalling 7p a litre - could trigger a return to
the fuel protests of seven years ago..."

The wind went out of those sails seven years ago. They wanted to be seen as
good guys and stopped before any real harm was done. So what did the
government do? Pissed on them, and everyone else, from a great height.
After pretending to listen for a year or so.
