and for drivers of other low emission vehicles that are exempt from
the congestion charge. Ken Livingstone has just stated on live TV
(BBC2 Newsnight) that if he is re-elected to the Mayor of London role
that he will resign if he raises the congestion charge on vehicles
that currently pay zero charge.

Seems it pays to make "green" vehicle choices.

his head.

...or to get rid of clowns like Mad Ken.

He said before the last election "Only some ghastly dehumanised moron would
want to get rid of the Routemaster". And then when he got elected, he got
rid of them. So for once he told the truth.

Only problem is they are not green just a bit less filthy. All
polluters should be made pay and letting some off completely sends the
wrong message.

Graz (graz@googlemail.com (Graz)) gurgled happily, sounding much like they
were saying:

You saw one of the very few on one of two "heritage routes". He'd
promised to keep them in mainstream service.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, I propose a punitive tax on food
transported by highly polluting means!

Do you think there should be one set of charges for those who pollute
because there's no practical alternative and a different set for those who
pollute in the course of some activity that is completely unnecessary?

Hear hear. I propose it should be set at a rate just above Duhng's
income level.
