The cuts and bruises are healing and the bump on the side of my head
has almost gone. The awful pain in my side has diminished too. Should
make a complete recovery. Luckily it wasn't nearly as bad as my
previous encounter as a child with a car out of control.

If you had taken responsibility for the situation instead of demanding your
"right of way" you wouldn't have got hurt.
Where's that report into Vince's house move?

Sorry to hear you've been in an accident Doug - who was driving,
someone you know?

Good, glad to hear it.

From what you have told us, the car in question was completely under
control, and it was the youthful Doug who was out of control.

Doug (Doug riseup.net>) gurgled happily, sounding much like they

When you went into detail on that story before, it wasn't the car which
was out of control.
You ran into the road - without looking - to "rescue" a dead bird's
corpse. Some poor sod had no chance to avoid you.

The bump on the head explains a lot about the tripe you post, and it
wasn't the car out of control it was you.

Did you get hit with a car twice as a child? As the last time you
told us about being hit it doesn't sound like the car was out of
control; just yourself.
( running onto a road, from between parked cars, without looking is
hardly controlled running is it?)

I'm very glad to hear it, but I'd be careful about admitting to bumps
on the head if I were you.
