Depends on your definition of 'DV'; pedantically you're correct since
MPEG-2 is a kind of digital video, but DV is more commonly used to
refer specifically to 25Mbps DV format.
However, as for 'puny MPEG2', my HD camera records MPEG-2 and I know
people who've had footage from the same model of camera on the BBC,
Discovery Channel and elsewhere. Duhg should really enter the 21st
century and stop shooting that SD crap... though I guess HDTV footage
of smelly hippies might look so realistic that viewers would be barfing
in their living rooms.
