eggs and chickens

One of the reasons given for the lack of people buying electric cars for
city use is the lack of places to recharge them but then local authorities
and others say that there's no demand.

Surely in order to break this chicken and egg cycle there have to be
recharging facilities so that potential buyers and users know that they can
recharge?

If we lived in a city I think we could make use of such a car/system.

We don't so can't. :)

The bigger problem with electric cars is the fact that you can't pull up at
a refuelling station and then a couple of minutes drive away with another
600 miles range, as you can with petrol/diesel/LPG fuel.

As my engineering professor used to say, "never underestimate the power
input rate of a petrol pump"!

If you can recharge your car at home overnight or in the car-park at work
during the day, that's fine. If you need to refuel unexpectedly at a garage,
you are going to be there a long time!

No what is needed a radical change to the mindset of motorists, who
demand sexy fast gas-guzzlers to bolster their self-importance and
wannabe image and most of them wouldn't be seen dead put-putting
around in an electric.

No, Duhg, what is needed is a fucking massive change in public transport
between cities.

There's a strong change I'm going to be in Birmingham for a meeting in
the near future. Dead easy from where we are, the town the office is in
is on a line between London & Brum.

TrainLine.com shows it as being about 90mins. Fine. That'll do nicely.

Oh, wait a minute. £195 for an open return first class was the only
ticket they offered. Fuck. That.

Since there already people using such vehicles that comment is yet another
demonstration of how deranged your outlook is.

BWHAHAHA. Us? Self important? One suggests you might look in a mirror before
posting such twaddle.

In what way does an electric vehicle "put-putt"?
