Me typed:

Some people bought some cars which came with free guns, why does this make
them murderers?
Why does this make all motorists murderers?

They might buy from a particular dealer just to get the free gun.
I can't see any evidence that even one of these buyers went on to be
become a murderer, let alone all of them, much less all motorists.

Possibly , seems a bit unlikely though it would be that many extra
sales. More likely the dealer is just talking up his sales figures.

True, though I'm not sure I'd want to live in a country where weapons
are treated so casually as to be chucked in for free with a new car.

That's because you've been conditioned to believe that guns are "dangerous"
by being brought up in an environment where firearms are not part of normal
everyday life.
You had been brought up in an environement where firearms are a feature of
everyday life, i.e. where most people own and use one, then you would have a
different view.
AIUI until the 1920s when legislation was enacted, anyone and everyone in
the UK could own and use a firearm without a licence.

I have however been brought up in an enviroment where knives are part
of everyday life , but it doesn't mean I'd be happy if everyone
carried a 6 inch carving knife up their sleeve.

Not necessarily. Plenty of americans want stricter gun controls in
their country.
