The malnourishment of the population had nothing to do with the method of
transport. It had more to do with prices and incomes.

Very true. Also significant was the tale of the Indian man who's son was
twice as big as him since his diet was so much better. Again all to do
with price and income.

See the Big Picture Brim.

Forget about the desultory pick-up goods train slowly clanking to a
standstill at some bucolic country halt so that the guard can heave off a
sack of mail, a couple of milk churns and a crate of racing pigeons, the
world isn't like that any more.

And one benefit of the current JIT system that exists largely because
of the flexibility of road haulage is?

Did you not notice that I used the past tense in my observation?

Ofcourse people live longer these days thanks to the NHS amongst other
things - Its just that when we talk of a life expectancy of 50 - that's an
average thats a bit "skiw-wiffed" due to loads of kids dying in the first
few days, and weeks of their lives and the eradication of a lot of childhood
killer diseases

Stands in awe as Tommy shows he can make a coherent point that not
only makes sense but can be agreed with!!!

Although he still can't cope with basic grammar and spelling. But yes,
it's a significant improvment from "The Toomy Collective".
