It just keeps on happening doesn't it. Privileged motorists are
treated differently to other sorts of killers in our car dominated
society. He should, of course, have been charged with manslaughter,
not dangerous driving. Life seems to be much cheaper on our roads than
anywhere else.
"FAMILY and friends of a young mum killed by a drink driver have
spoken of their disgust after he was handed a four-year jail sentence.
Mum-of-two Cheryl McGoldrick, 26, was out with friends on January 25
when she was hit by Paul Clements' VW Golf in Beckenham High Street.
Clements was found to be driving at 53mph on the 30mph road and was
more than twice the drink-drive limit.
Speaking after the sentencing, Cheryl's mum Maxine McGoldrick said:
"Of course we are upset about this disgusting decision.
"We are just so angry because he deserved a much longer jail term for
killing my daughter.
"He got that while we have got a life sentence."
Cheryl's younger sister Danielle, who lives with her mum in Kings Hall
Road, Beckenham, is disappointed Clements was not given a jail
sentence of at least 10 years...."

Yet again Doug uses someone else's tragedy to try and score a pathetic
point.

I would agree he should have got much longer. However I'd be
interested in knowing how long you think a drunk cyclist should get in
prison if it ever happened that one of them ran into and killed a
child? (I'm not holding out much hope you'll answer this btw given
your inability to square the circle of your contradictory views on
various methods of transport)

One can but hope he's eaten some extra organic carrots today from his
garden so his eyes don't go crosseyed when reading it ;)

As long as that's all he does with the carrots!

You must be joking! The only organic things you'll find in Duhg's
garden are the CFCs that pissed out of the old fridges he dumped
there. Dung has already explained that it is not worth bothering
growing your own veg. Nor, according to Gollum, is it possible to
survive on UK produce alone (something to do with lack of Vitamin C -
apparently the entire UK population died of scurvy each year in the
days before aeroplanes). That's why he gets all his stuff
airfreighted in instead.
