The Guardian
"A 19-month-old child was killed yesterday when a stolen Jeep hit his
pushchair while being walked by his mother in south-east London. Three
teenagers ran off after the Jeep Wrangler they were in collided with a
tree in Southwark before hitting the child. He died in hospital.
His mother was also carrying a baby boy, thought to be a few weeks old,
who was treated for minor injuries in hospital. Two 14-year-olds were
arrested soon after the incident and were last night being questioned
by police..."

A tragic criminal act by teenage joyriders, who would have caused the same
carnage regardless of the vehicle used.

Are you under some delusion that *ANYBODY* here would do anything than
condemn *absolutely* 14yo thieves?

Really?
Basic mechanics disagrees with you. Had they been riding bicycles
then it is unlikely that they and their vehicles would have caused
as much damage. Not only is this due to the lower mass of three
bikes but also because they would probably have been travelling at
much lower velocity. All that assumes that they would have followed
the same path, which is unlikely.
Next contestant please.

There was a tragic case this week where a young boy was killed by being hit
over the head with a frying pan and then stabbed with a kitchen knife.
By your logic, this means that frying pans and kitchen knives are inherently
dangerous and should be banned.
When you show your contempt for drivers, you are not showing contempt
towards a minority group. You are showing the contempt towards "people"-
towards the majority, towards ordinary people who Socialists such as
yourself have always despised.
Luckily, you are in such a minority here that your opinions are irrelevant.

Regrettably the 'car' has been elevated by advertising hype and the likes of
Clarkson and others to be a _must have_ status symbol which yobs see as
essential to their own position in the hierachy of thuggery, instead of it
being viewed simply as a useful means of transport.
I don't think kitchen equipment quite falls into the same category amongst the
brutish thrill-seekers.
