Its a well documented fact that all forms of two way radio communications
was intially intended to be banded. Its only because such groups as ACPO,
ASA, RSGB, Traffic hauliers and individuals made representation that it
would make a negative difference to their work / hobby.
Its also documented that radio comms traffic also takes a shorter form of
communication via 2 way radio that on a mobile phone, you might just say a
few words in an transmission and put mic down, on the phone your attention
is drawn out into a longer conversation.
ACPO made some comment on their new TETRA radio system being able to be used
as a mobile phone, hence the reason why specific frequencies were then
issued, all of which are mobile Phone frequencies
