Would you care to unpack that a little - I have to admit the technology
behind the Prius fascinates me more than anything else, but why would
you consider it a "horror of a journey" to travel by one? Apart from the
fact that its basic function is as a city car and its thus not suited to
long inter-urban trips as a primary function. A big intercooled turbo
diesel Volvo would be my personal choice for this I think.
Most people say there is plenty of space inside one - even people with
the largest of frames says its comfortable. Especially in the rear seats.
What part of the performance envelope it offers would you want/be able
to exceed?
Is it just too quiet?
I have to say that JC and his gang slip one more step downhill every
time they slag it off - which they appear to do on a regular basis,
basically because they appear to willfully fail to understand its
purpose. Just because it doesn't perform well on a race track does not
mean it doesn't perform well in an urban environment - which is where
its meant to live. Continual stop - start motoring is where it scores -
these seems to be the way we are going in most places, just like the USA.
