The motorists who infest this newsgroup and wax lyrical about how
families need a car will no doubt go into denial mode again. Even when
it has become obvious that a sedentary, car-dependent lifestyle is
harmful to children.

Should this story surprise us? Of course not. Children spend the whole
day stuck in a car instead of playing outdoors.

Are you going to reply to the points I raised in my reply to you in your
thread "Petrol rationing", or have you conceded the argument?

I've just read the link you posted, it's about mobile phones in Spain.
Is this just your mistake or are you trying to twist even that to motoring.
By the way my previous comment still stand.

Where is there any mention of either cars or transport in that news report
Doug?

"Two children in Spain have been admitted to a mental health institution to
be treated for addiction to their mobile phones, Spanish media report.
The children, aged 12 and 13, were sent to the clinic by their parents, who
said they could not carry out normal activities without their handsets".
What the fuck has this got to do with transport?

Whereas if they adopted a vegan diet and cycled everywhere, they too
could look like Gollum.
Mmm, attractive prospect. Not.

Oh dear, we went through this just a couple of days ago.
This is not uk realted or transport related, so is completely off topic.
Just introducing a subject with the word car in it does not make it
transport related.
If you can't keep to the topic of this ng, just shut up.

> The motorists who infest this newsgroup
This is a very tired phrase you keep trotting out. It's meaningless and just
cheap shot
What has this story got to do with a sedentary, car-dependent lifestyle?
Nothing. Not only are you off topic, you are making comment about a news
story you quote with is also entirely disconnected.
> Should this story surprise us? Of course not. Children spend the whole
> day stuck in a car instead of playing outdoors.
Evidence?
It's quite amazing that every single sentence of your post can be easily
challenged as being false, unsubstantiated, or is just plain unrelated to
the evidence you are attempting to present.
