There was a famous sequence in a feature film ("No Highway In The
Sky") where James Stewart's character, convinced that the airliner he
had designed was due to crash though metal fatigue, "lifted" the
undercarriage whilst the plane was stationary on the runway.

Mind you, it was fiction.
