While the man is obviously a grade A pillock and deserved a heavy fine
and a long ban, getting 15 months in the nick for speeding seems
pretty damn excessive given the paltry sentences dished out for real
crimes such as burglary, GBH etc. Also speeding on a bike on an A
road, the only person he's likely to kill if he crashes is himself.
Doug - don't bother responding to this, I'm not interested in your
idiotic views.

He's certainly a pillock for pleading guilty to dangerous driving. He's the
evidence that "speed kills" is a lie.

Given the video evidence they'd have probably done him anyway if he'd
contested it and he'd have got even longer. I think his sentencing is
just out of spite because he got one over the old bill in that they
couldn't catch him, especially since it even says in that article that
another biker going even faster "only" got 28 days.

The charge was dangerous driving, not just speeding.
I loved this bit though:
"After sentencing, Supt Matt Pullen of Wiltshire Police said the force
would not tolerate anyone who sought to "flagrantly disobey the law".
... unless they're on a push-bike, presumably.

He didn't get 15 months for speeding.

Which given he was on a single lane A road I can sort of understand.
But 15 months is taking the piss. Probably won't change his behaviour
anyway , most bikers seem to ride as if they're immortal. Only last
week I saw some idiot on a ninjafireblade1200GXRwhatever zip between a
tipper truck and a car on the A406 and the gap was hardly wider than
his bike. If either the truck or car had moved slightly the guy would
have been mince.

You enjoying getting pissing wet in the rain, boiling hot in the sun
and knackered from cycling up hills?
