It is indeed disappointing that the people responsible for running this
country don't look beyond tinkering with the roads in some way in order to
resolve the country's transport problems.

However, such short-sightedness is not confined to those in politics or
public administration.

So where will the new tracks be laid? To get them close to habitation,
where they are presumably wanted, will require the demolition of quite a
few houses, which are also wanted.
