Bank Holiday washout for the south as a month's worth of rain falls in ONE DAY.

This must have curbed the hypermobility of many, which just goes to
show their journeys were not really necessary.

"Britain was lashed by storms as almost a month's worth of rain fell
in just one day.

An average of 60mm of rain falls on the UK in May - and some areas had
that in just a morning.

The foul weather caused widespread Bank Holiday misery for many as
roads ground to a halt and train lines were submerged under water..."

"...Meanwhile, motoring groups predicted that traffic will grind to a
halt at certain hotspots with congestion expected to peak this
afternoon.

And the heavy rain in the south will only further add to drivers'
woes. Roads were closed by flash floods and accidents as drivers
struggled in the dreadful conditions..."

.... and many more millions who don't live in the overcrowded end of our
island enjoyed good weather, open roads and freedom to do what we want and
have a thoroughly enjoyable weekend, listening to the grinding of teeth and
wailings from a few people down south.

We had a great weekend. :-)

Another pathetic attempt to turn a story about something unrelated to
transport, i.e. the weather, into a motorist-bashing agenda. Why? Your
standards really have slipped from their already very low level.

Oh, and as already pointed out in another thread, the traffic didn't grind
to a halt. Sorry (though not very) to disappoint.

unless they all drove north to where the weather was really nice....
See you've just shown that it would have been better to be hypermobile
rather than stationary.

bang... ouch thats one foot. will you do both today or leave it at
one?

I don't live in the South. We had glorious sunshine up here.
