Pick up your old copy of "Alternative London", 6th edition, edited by
Georganne Downes, 1982.
Look at the back of the title-page. Fourth in the "with contributions
from" section is, tadaaa, a person called Doug Bollen. Maybe he did
the stuff on microcomputers.
Note to the other Doug. I wasn't looking for the name. It just popped
out and I couldn't let it lie.

So Bollen was an old hippy too, just like 'our' Doug? The coincidences
keep piling up.
As you may know, the original author of Alternative London, Nicholas
Saunders, was also the founder of "Neal's Yard" in Covent Garden, home
of all manner of hippy shit from aromatherapy and homeopathy to muesli.
The spiritual home of all things Duhg.

While we're on the subject of historical research, I think I've found
the first recorded use of the name "Duhg" for Doug Bollen on Usenet.
Well, it's the earliest archived one anyway. It was on 2 Novermber 1997
and the author was Paul Friday:

History, Duhg.
Taught in schools. You know, fascist oppressive brainwashing centres for
the children...

Wrong on every count, Toomy. So no change there.

So no excuses for your behaviour Ed?
You re\ally believe its fair to pick on Doug loads of times every day just
because you disagree with him (and lets be honest you by default disagree
agree with most governmentsm most scientists), for people to tell him (via
messages here) that they're outside his house and you to post his details
here all the time - hoping to instigate further "action" against him - what
do you want ?
Do you wish someone to go round his house and beat him up or destroy his
property?

I can't document anything but I've been around this ng since about 1992
in one form or another and I can't remember Duhg being anything but
daft. We've lost one or two along the way, but some people just keep
coming back.

Transaltion: disagreeing with Duhg is "picking on him", according to
Toomy.
Besides, you have done far worse to Steve Firth than anyone in this
newsgroup has ever done to Duhg, you hypocrite and drooling fucktard.

Can you repeat that in English please? Where do I "disagree agree" with
most governmentsm (sic) most scientists?
How does one "disagree agree" with anything?

I see you just give an address out and IF something happens its nothing to
do with you.
the mesages about his alleged address, what his garden looks like , what
his house looks like then, the number plate of the car parked nearby ?
Just don't cross the line again between banter and threatening behaviour -
plenty of angry little posters have!
My pointing out "discrepancies" about the Mr firth collective is
certainly not comparable - anyone want to thank me actually?
After all If it wasn't for me they'd be pontificating about getting to and
from an (alleged) home in manchester (C-charge) in his alleged upmarket 4*4
:)
