50 MPH Limit proposed for Rural Roads

Round my way (Warwickshire), there are very few stretches of rural
roads that could justify travelling at 50 mph let alone 60mph.

I can't believe the idiots that drive around on these roads at 60 mph
as if it was compulsory to go that fast.

Driving into bends not knowing if farm vehicles are ahead. Failing to
slow down for cross roads and then going apopletic because someone has
pulled out in front of them. I mean how the f**k are yo supposed to see
them coming at that speed from behind a bend or over a hill?

There's not a single farmer round here that hasn't had some idiot drive
into them. Of course, it's no contest when a combine gets hit by a BMW
but it does leave a mess.

Then there are the animals. We all know hitting a stag at sixty is not
to be recommended but recently I was subjected to a tirade from someone
who nearly went up my arse because I slowed for a pheasent.

He seemed to think I should have run it over. Well nice idea except
that pheasants can fly albeit to about windscreen height then they come
through like a frozen turkey.

That's what happens when a government spends a decade or more telling
people that the only thing required to drive safely is to stick to the
speed limit. If the limit is 60 then 60 must be safe, right?

What if it had simply sat there?

You would have had to stop, get out, shoo the thing away, spend more
time returning to your car, all before setting off again.

Imagine if everyone carried on like that, we'd never get anywhere!!!!

They always get out of the way.

Unfortunately, pheasants weren't blessed with the greatest of brains
which means their exit strategy is totally unpredictable and it's this
that makes them dangerous.

There's a big f**k off stag just waiting for you and I would love to
see your windscreen after a pheasants finished with it.

You're obviously a towny or just plain stupid to come out with a
statement like that.
