but would they? It's "common myth" that if you are doing less than a ton,
you won't get a ban, and many people, including myself, often ignore the
70mph limit anyway. I stick rigidly to limits around town, but see no
problem (and neither did my ex-plod advanced driving instructor) with me
doing 90+ on a clear dry day. People will drive as fast or as slow as they
like on the motorway whatever the limit.
