Thanks for the responses. Everything worked out fine. Staff were
helpful in opening gates, even swiping my Oyster for me, or else me
turning the case around got it through the normal turnstiles.

Fortunately I didn't travel with bags at weekends, when Russell Square
was closed on weekends for refurbishment. The walk from Holborn is
quite pleasant and can include the Cittie of Yorke on the way!
