... memorable and have crap melodies. There were bands like The Zombies, The Moody Blues etc who made some excellent melodies but they arent apparently cool enough for the NERDS. You have never heard the album "Remain In Light".

The Heads' subsequent art-funk phase also helped shaped the sound of later bands; compare "Remain in Light" (1980) with Shriekback's "Oil and Gold" a half-decade later. Radiohead even named themselves after a song on the Heads' "True Stories" album...
