  Metronet-liveried unusual working

Author: Jamie Thompson
Date: Feb 29, 2008 11:18

I just saw one of the Metronet/TfL blue and yellow locos going south
on the slow lines through Harrow & Wealdstone. What makes the working
notable is that it was hauling just a single coach, which at a glance
appeared to be in First Capital Connect's purple-with-magenta-bits-at-
the-bottom livery. Quite strange.

Anyone know if it was up to anything of interest?

Which bus Embankment Gardens to the Royal Albert Hall?

Is there a route involving just one bus from Embankment Gardens, along
the Chelsea Embankment to the Royal Albert Hall? From what I can
gather from Internet maps etc., the nearest bus for that seems to be
the 360. Can you advise?

I just found out that it's closed. Are they demolishing it? What will happen
to the stunningly beautiful chapel inside it?

You have been fined £14,000,000.
You will therefore have no money to do anything at all over the next
year, and you will go bankrupt, and TfL will take over.

  DLR Oyster validator

OK I am a regular Underground and Tramlink user but whenever I visit
DLR, (WIQ, West India Quay, and GAR, Gallions Reach) I often fail to
touch out.

Most valaidators face out so welcome travellers to the system but
don't help those existing the system.

Thoughts?

When to use standalone validators (NR -> tube)

Author: Iain
Date: Feb 27, 2008 11:49

I thought I generally understood Oyster, but I seem to have confused
myself last weekend.

I was coming in to London Bridge from East Croydon on an FCC train,
using a paper ticket single because my PAYG Oyster isn't valid on that
route. When I got off the train at London Bridge there were standalone
Oyster validators on the platform.

Now this was the first time I'd been to the station, so not knowing the
layout I assumed that there would be a non-gated interchange to the tube
and so touched my Oyster onto the validator. Shortly afterwards
(following the "London Underground this way" signs) I went through the
exit barrier which took my paper ticket, and then I had to go through a
standard tube barrier which classed my Oyster touch as an entry, and
hence levied a
