christ, this is hard work. Try hard to follow this, becasue I can't make it
any simpler.
We were in the league cup until the final day.
The final day of the league cup was the day they held the final.
It was called the CIS Cup Final.
On the final day of the competition.
They also held the Uefa Cup final and the Scottish cup final on the final
days of those competitions.
We were in both until the final day. When we played in the finals.
The final day of the league was in between the final days of the Uefa and
Scottish cups.
We were in the chase for the league until the final day of that competition,
too.
We were, therefore, in 4 competitions until the final day.
I suppose I could have said "until their respective final days" - but that
would have been stupid, because as everybody knows, and as nobody apart from
you needs pointing out, you don't have the finals of three domestic and one
international competition on the same day.
