That's an assesment that's so harsh it's bordering on ludicrous. You're
slating Smith because he couldn't get his players 'up' for 6 games in 12
days? Smith got a team of mediocrities 'up' and playing so far above
themselves that they were in 4 competitions up until the final day. Unheard
of.

That's what I like about him. He'll never try to ingratiate himself with
the 'celtic minded' element of the support, unlike O'neil. He just comes to
work, does the best job he can and doesn't take shit from anybody. Quality
dude.
Don't agree with the bit about defending the team no matter what, though.
He'll have a go if he thinks it's needed.

Never has been, never will be. I think if you get a 50%% success rate, you're
a top notch manager. What people forget is that a player may be a quality
player, Sionko for example, but for some reason it just doesn't work out.
That's not a bad signing.
