Can anyone recommend a set of headphones with either noise cancellation or
that boost the sound. Preferrably under a hundred notes if possible.
The headphones can be USB or standard audio jack. Reason being, every time I
go on a flight and try to watch videos or DVDs on my laptop, the sound is
almost drowned out by the plane.
Cheers.

Your best bet is probably in-the-ear headphones with a silicon plug. Sony
Fontopias are good and not too expensive.

I can personally recommend the Fontopias.
If you're a real audiophile you can get super duper silicon plug headphones
(gold plated connections etc.... ranging between 70 and 300 bucks IIRC)... a
guy in my work got a pair recently but I can't remember the name... I'll try
to remember to find out tomorrow.

I've had both Shure E3c's and E2c's. I wouldn't recommend the E2c's,
there are better models about for the money. I didn't find they fitted
very well. The E3c's are exceptional in every way, but they are very
expensive.
Last week I lost(got nicked) my E2c's and ordered a pair of Etymotic
6i's to replace them. Spent loadsa cash recently and didn't want to fork
out another £100 on E2C's again. They've not arrived yet but all reviews
take them up big time. Got them for 59 on amazon.
