No. HD ready simply means it's capable of displaying a HD picture. I
believe that means at least 720p (1280×720), but the best currently
available is 1080p (1920×1080).

In article 130.133.1.4>, guitierrez@blueyonder.co.uk
says...

Currys are selling "Full HD". ????

There was me thinking that was something that only the content providers
could offer.

If Currys were to offer a TV NOT capable of displaying "Full HD" then I
would suggest they would be negligent. If they are promoting sets that DO
display "Full HD" and that is the market the buyer is dabbling in then I
would suggest the sales persons are carrying out their job in a manner that
can only be described as what should be expected of responsible sales staff
if they favour true HD receivers.
