Last season I arrived to watch a match. It was an evening run chase.
I had been umpiring a couple of miles away and my match was finished
early. The weather was dry and the light was good, but as I arrived
the players were leaving the field (6 overs to go). Evryone was
gurning about the umpires taking them off as the result was on. One
umpire was hanging around waiting, so I asked him what had hapened. He
told me that the other umpire had just called out that it was too dark
and then he went off, so what to do?

I think that the remaining umpire who had not agreed to take the
players off, should have asked the captains for a replacement strikers
end umpire and finished the 6 overs.
