The Kings XI Punjab proved why they are one of the tournament's best
all-round sides by extending their winning spree to five, beating the
Bangalore Royal Challengers comfortably by six wickets in a low-

  FPT Beamer

Author:
Date: May 5, 2008 12:23

Today Powell bowled a beamer (above waist) the umpire called noball,
but no caution was given. The umpire clearly said that there was no
caution because the delivery was a slower ball.
A slow paced delivery can pass above the waist without attracting a
noball call?
Is this something in the playing conditions of the FPT?

At what point do the captains score double?
Both my captains have scored single points.

One to watch - Jonathan Clare

Author: Robert Henderson
Date: May 5, 2008 01:57

The Derbyshire player Jonathan Clare has made his name so far as a FM
bowler but he has it in him to be a top class allrounder - he was the
leading amateur batsman in the Lancashire League last year with 695 runs
playing for Burnley.

Since making his debut late last season he has been consistently
successful in all forms of cricket with the ball. If Derbys have any
sense they will push him up the order.

If you want an example of how English players are being denied by
foreign players, look at Derbys' signing of Langveldt. They have the
following English quicks to choose fro: Lungley, Clare, Wagg, Clarke,
Hunter, White.
