An absolute scorcher in Haytor today with baking heat and a strong sun.

Day max. a whopping +20.0C (normal is +13.0C).

Hazy too with a very gentle easterly drift of wind.

Hope it cools down a bit for the Ten Tors, otherwise a few will be
suffering.
Now at 1710 it is back down to +17.4C.

With you and Nick telling us how wonderful it is in the West Country we've
forgone our usual Iberian golf holiday this year for a week near sunny
Tiverton. Week commencing May 16th , so expect some serious abuse if I get
my usual SW wet weather ;-)

Blimey, you're risking it.

Tiverton, that's near my neck of the woods.

Well, it was a scorcher here today (felt like it anywhere). Cooking in light
winds this afternoon. Still toasty in the evening sun.

The wind direction was just east enough for it to be coming off the land and
not the sea, hence a max of 24.9C.

A few brave souls were swimming in the sea (SST 12C) when I went for a
stroll this afternoon. Plenty of sun-burnt cases scattered on the beach.

(At 18:55), 20.5C, RH 52%%, DP 10.3C, 1015.5 hPa (F), Wind 6 mph ESE. 12.8
hours of sunshine so far today.
