50 Ways to Help The Planet

Date: May 8, 2008 11:18

There has to be at least ONE programme idea here for every section!

http://www.wireandtwine.com/green/50/#html

OK so its an American list and we don't use as many "napkins" so that's not
really an issue but the rest are pretty universal, if a tad old hat to many
UK citizens.

You could print it out and ask each patrol/six to identify three things they
could do at home and three at camp?

Oh yes explorers should not necessarily shower with a friend, but it should
be fine for leaders :-)

In the 70s the ethanol was made from rainforest trees - hopefully they
have found another source.
BTW I used to work for a Brazilian corporation in London and my
favourite story is that one of our managers went home to Rio for
Christmas; she was mugged in the street at gunpoint - by a policeman!!

They are actually growing sugar cane to produce ethanol, it is a
humungously big business.

And I'm afraid that , rightly or wrongly, I didn't feel too safe
walking down the street in Sao Paulo.
