On this NG there has often been info on camp kitchen supplies - but when you
need them you cannot find them.

As many of you know our HQ burnt down recently and we are currently in the
market for some catering gear of the type used in commercial kitchens and ex
military etc.

Please post shortcuts to your preferred supplier.

We have an oven - but are looking for 2 gallon pans with lids, large seving
spoons and strainer spoons, ladles, oven trays with lids etc.

We are also after plates, dishes, mugs of the plastic variety.

Thanks

In search of the Good and of the Evil

We should think that God, who has given us Jesus Christ in order to
save us through Him, has nothing to do with the Evil.
God gave the life to the angel, who later rebelled against God
Himself, even if He got knowledge of the angel’s rebellion, because,
otherwise, it would be like to hide the hand within the sleeve.
These considerations, being already read by thousands of people all
over the world, will provide to solve a lot of doubts.

  No wonder Districts don't work!

I've just answered a question for my latest university assigment, and I
used Dodge as the "system in focus" > no wonder it doesn't work it's
irrelevant!

Question 1
a)
Figure 1 shows the system in focus, this system is constructed and
lableled following the methodology of the Viable System Model ( VSM)
(Zimmer J, Chapman J 2004). This model describes five systems within the
model and I will address these ( where present) in turn.
Figure 1 The system in focus

System 1, the operations system is present , and is filled by four types
of sub systems , these are activities that the system in focus is
responsible for creating, ie events and the Explorer Scout unit...

  CRB Disclosures

Author:

I was somewhat dismayed to read the following in my District
newsletter:

"The Committee of the Council [of the Scout Association] has
decided that all adults should renew their Scouting disclosure at
least every five years..."

The arguments for and against repeated Disclosure are well
rehearsed here, so I won't bother repeating them, but can anyone
confirm or refute this statement? The Minutes of the Council
meetings aren't published on Scoutbase :-(

(Also sent to the Info Centre)

The situation is somewhat academic, as in October 2009 the new
process for registering with the Independant Safeguarding
Authority goes live. Also,my District will shortly be merged with
others - thus, as all Adults will have changed District, I
presume a new Disclosure will be needed...

Does anyone know if District can define a set of "rules" about were
and how a group can recruit new members?

I've looked through POR but can't see anything either way.

Thanks

George

On behalf of 16th B, thanks to Alan ( Splodge) for organising the route of a
night hike for us all last night. I'm not sure if his adventure through
Epping Forest was more of a challenge than the rush-hour tube journey to get
there, but we had great fun. The best bit for me was the arrival of an
already packed tube train and Stratford, we had tried to stagger the 3
patrols on subsequent trains but there were 2 heaving and shoving to get-on.
Myself and 2 PLs were the last and they commended me afterwards on my rugby
scrum skills as we launched ourselves at the wall of grim-faced commutors,
not one of them said a word, but if looks could kill. The doors kept opening
and closing on by rucsac but as we finally moved away one of the PL's said,"
Oh look, Jason is still on the platform...
