Strange really, and I know I am generalising widely, and probably
wrongly....
But when I was running a group out in the suburbs most of our parent
volunteers and leaders were very much the bright, professional people, who
brought all their whizzy, business, managerial ways to scouting. (As a
semi-skilled factory worker I felt like the little bloke on the end who
says, " I look-up to them..." )

The reason I ask is that it has been announced recently that
Broadstone Warren hosts the biggest beech tree in Britain with a girth
of 8.4 metres.
It mentions it as being Ashdown Forest in Sussex.
