I am back for some more advice.
We have booked to do Kip on a Ship on HMS Belfast on 9th February. We
will be taking 30 cubs with 5 leaders/helpers up on the train from
Bracknell to Waterloo. The plan was then to walk them from Waterloo to
the ship. When I talk about this to various people there always seem
to be a sharp intake of breath, as if it is too far to go, they’ll
never make it, what about their kit (they will have been told not to
bring the usual stuff that they all seem to bring on nights away!)
etc.. I am also told we should think about either the train (from
Waterloo East to Tower Bridge) or take the bus, both of which fill me
with a little trepidation as that seems to be the ideal opportunity to
lose some!
I seem to be getting conflicting advice about how long it will take
and if it is really “do-able”. If there is anybody familiar with that
part of London (Eddie?), who can offer me advice, I will be very
grateful.
Peter
