The cynical view of course is that the CRB are seeking to end free
checks.
They get us well hooked on regular free checks and say to Government
that the number of free checks being given is unsustainable, and bang
go our free checks.

I have just sent it round my county disguised as an official HQ announcement
asking for voualnteers to run a trial :-)
I just know this is going to backfire :-)
(Didn't we have the same thing but called squirrels a few years back?)

From what I remember of the syllabus First response doesn't include anything
that is different for YP, apart from some of the DRABC details, and they
change regularly anyway!
Looking after YP that are feeling a bit tom and dick isn't actually covered
by first response, that's basic nursing and we are pretty much on or own
about that.
As for teaching first aid to YP then any leader with a bit of experience can
do ER1-3 but you do need the modules for ER4 and FA instructor
qualifications to teach ER5.

I prefer to be indoors! But if pushed, I prefer a hat, as it means I can
still hear what is happening. If it's really gusting though, a hood is
perfect for keeping the wet out of the back of your neck.
