Now whilst my gut reaction is "stuff 'em", there's a little voice (that I'd
like to strangle) that is asking if they haven't seen notes or emails
or.....
A couple of weeks ago we sent home notes (more than once per family over a
few weeks) over a change of meeting evening. There was one night when we'd
meet on the Wednesday rather than the Tuesday because of ......
We decided to have a leader's meeting at the HQ that Tuesday. Half a dozen
cubs turned up with parents who were adamant they'd had no notification
about the change of plans.
Well, they had.
They'd just not read it, or read it and forgotten about it.
Last year we went to the police station. Sixteen met as instructed at the
polie station. Twenty met at a locked scout hut and bitterly complained
about our changing plans without telling them. Again, they'd failed to read
several notes.
What form of communication *does* work?

Yep, completely agree with everyone else - you put the ball in their court
and they failed to return it.
No more messages, no notes on the door, just don't turn up.

Now that IS intensive reading!Do you often veer from one extreme to
another? :-)

Rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Imagine my surprise when I hit the screen this morning to finalise tonight's
programme and details of our working weekend at our local campsite, only to
find an email that looked like Scouting Plus but did in fact say......
"We are sorry to hear that you have left your role in Scouting but would
like to thank you for all of the time that you have dedicated to Scouting as
a volunteer.
We want to stay in touch with you.
...so we have introduced Campfire Circle - a great way to keep alive your
involvement with Scouting and by joining you'll receive:
Free membership to the pole dancing club of your choice.
Regular visits from Cubs to keep your garden tidy.
Freshly chopped logs etc etc etc
Then I noticed, it was addressed to 'Norman' , lucky Norman!
My injection please nurse.......
