My cousin, who lives in the Cevennes, tells all visitors to be away by
early September on account of the weather. We've been chased north by
bad weather both times we've visited them late August/early September.
And their worst ever floods, in 2002, were the second week in
September.
Paris, as Ace says, may be different.
