On my old StreetPilot 111 system I used to print out the map area I had
selected to download to the card. This always came up as pink. For some
reason although the selected are comes up on the screen pink as usual, when
I go to "print preview" the pink area is just not there. What have I done
wrong?
Would appreciate any ideas.

I can get a 720 for about £180 while its 730 replacement is about £260.
As far as I can find out the £80 will give me IQ routes and Advanced
Lane Guidance. The hardware seems to be identical.
Are they worth the extra money?
IQ Routes in particular sounds too good to be true.
Thanks for any guidance.

Some garmin outdoor units offer link to heart-rate monitors.
does anybody know if they only link to garmin HRM's, or to any of the
usual brands like polar ?

My TT 910 is a brilliant machine BUT, if I don't use it for a few weeks it
takes forever to lock on to a Sat, today it took 35 minutes, is this a
common problem.
I suppose the answer could be to switch it on an hour before I need it. Any
thoughts.

Just back from holiday in Italy - as we were going to be driving a hire
car a fair bit, I made sure I'd downloaded a new European map for my
TomTom 910. Checked the routes on the device at home before I left so
was pretty confident of being able to rely on it getting us from A to B.
I used the TomTom to drive to the airport in the UK, and later set it up
in our hire car in Italy (a Fiat Bravo). However to my utter horror it
completely failed to fire up! It was plugged in via the cigar lighter
cable as usual, and the green LED on that lit up (as was the LED on the
front panel of the TomTom)... but on pressing the TomTom's power-up
button, absolutely nothing happened.
This was pretty disastrous for our holiday plans, so believe me I tried
everything I could think of to get it going... wiggling wires; leaving
it connected up while driving to charge it and then trying to switch on
with and without the power lead onnected; trying it on different days
etc. I couldn't test any other power source as I didn't have my mains
charger with me, or access to any other vehicle.

I have just bought a Navigo SY 885. So far so good.
But the speed is in Kph and not miles per hour.
How do I change it please. It is probably very obvious but I am
missing the solution.

Having upgraded my iPhone to a shiny new 3G one yesterday mainly for the
GPS receiver, I'm now wondering whether my unit is broken as so far it
hasn't managed to get a GPS lock at all. I first tried it in the house
in positions where my N95 8GB gets a lock easily, and I've tried it in
the garden where I would expect it to have no trouble at all. I intend
to try it in various (outdoor and in the clear) locations whilst out
and about today.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong....?
In "Settings - General" I have "Location Services" turned on. In the
Maps application I press the cross-hairs button in the bottom-left
of the screen and see the usual rotating wait-cursor. Then I wait,
wait a bit more, wait a while longer, and after that do a bit more
waiting. Nothing happens. The rotating thing carries on rotating for
several minutes until the iPhone gets bored and goes back to standby.
On my v1 iPhone, without a GPSr, pressing the same button would reasonably
soon show a circle on the map, supposedly containing my position, but
on this one I don't get a circle at all.
How does this compare with the experience of other iPhone 3G GPS users?
Thanks,

I notice that the new iPhone 3G stamps photos with GPS data. I took a
photo and looking at the properties (Similar to EXIF data) on my PC I
can see the lat/lon is listed as:
Latitude 51; 4.89; 0
Longitude 1; 4.6; 0
I've thrown them at Google Maps and it's not fond of them, neither is
Autoroute so I thought it might be Degrees; Minutes; Seconds so threw
them at* http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/bickel/DDDMMSS-decimal.html but
it doesn't like doesn't like the 4.89 and converts it to 4.
Any ideas what these figures are exactly and where I can convert them
to something useful on Google Maps? I uploaded the photo to Flickr
and it didn't pay attention to the Lat/Lon and asked me to place the
photo on a map from scratch.
* It coverts them to 51.066667, 1.066667 which is NEAR to where the
photo was taken, but not quite right listing it about a mile away but
if it's skipping the .89 and .6 then I guess that would be reasonable.
