  Music in a Beetle

Author:
Date: May 7, 2008 08:00

My wife has just bought a 1972 Beetle in 'as new' condition. One owner
from new and garaged it's whole life this 35 year old car has done just
38k miles.

She'd like to get some music but as the interior is so perfect doesn't
want to drill any holes so we're looking for some sort of mp3
player/dock/amp/speaker combo that could be sited under the front seat
(say) (ideally with a remote control) with power coming from the
cigarette lighter.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

BNP man to be shunned in London assembly

Author: St Georges Day April 23rd
Date: May 4, 2008 03:34

The British National Party's sole member of the London Assembly will
become a "pariah" as the major parties agree to shun him. As he
launched into a victory speech at City Hall early yesterday, other
politicians left the stage in protest.

Clutch cover ID: AP HE 1074

Author: Ian
Date: Apr 24, 2008 08:49

Folks,

I bought a NOS Herald clutch on eBay. Unfortunately, it has come with
the wrong cover plate in the box. No problem, as the seller has
refunded me, but I was wondering if anyone could identify it.

It seems to be an AP HE 1074. Looks like 7" diameter, and the friction
surface is a long way ( 1/2") below the mounting flanges, so it looks
as if it's for something with the clutch well recessed into the
flywheel.

Any bright ideas?

Ian

  Silicone brake fluid

Author: Ian
Date: Apr 22, 2008 02:15

Dear All,

I've just replaced almost the entire braking system on my Herald:
calipers, wheel and master cylinders, hoses and some pipework. Now
would therefore be a good time to change to silicone brake fluid, if
I'm going to do it.

What do you all think? Worthwhile for a car which will be doing light
summer duty only?

Ian
