  Corner Steadies

It had to happen after 10 years use.!
Front offside corner steady broke at the weekend ( Tall Ships )
Thought, unscrew the nuts and replace with nice new Alko corner
steady. Nop ! not going to happen Nuts spin in the base of the van
and can't get them off. Suppose it was to easy for Swift to set the
nuts in a steel plate just to stop this happening.

Any suggestions. this must be quite common on the old vans ?

The only way I can personally see as a way round the problem is to
hack saw the nuts ( they are loose so I can do this ) and drill
straight through the floor, fitting new nuts with a small backing
plate.

  Battery Charging

Hello all.

I have just recently purchased a CI wilk deluxe caravan, there is no onboard
zig/charging unit like my previous van, instead the previous owner has used
a battery charger to charge the battery.

Am i correct in thinking that when the charger is on that will supply the
vans 12v system and not the battery?
Will the battery still be charging?
should I leave the charger on the whole time?

any advice please

  Servicing ...

Well, we have a row of three weekends where we aren't out in the 'van
so we've given it a full service today, as we have the Landrover last
weekend, ready for our trip to France on 9th August.

We're touring Northern france, Brittany, Normandy etc etc for a
fortnight, so if anyone knows of any 'must see' places, please shout
up. We've been to Mt St Michel and want to view the Normandy Landing
Beaches etc. Only just starting our research into the area so any
pointers and good places to see will aid us tremendously.
Cheers.

A friend has a Swift Charisma and in the oven there is an electric element.
Control on front of oven will not activate it. Before he starts to see if
element is u/s is there a master switch anywhere other than the main
electric panel?

I don't know any more on type/model/year of van but he has not go internet
access so asked me to see if I could help.

Thanks

Have booked a week at this CL and in a previous posting been advised that

Any comments please....Seems to be over half a mile away but would like
further info from people who have stayed there.
