This is a pilot's knee board that, although it's believed to be from the
Korean war period or earlier, is ready to go into the air.
It's made by Radio City Products and is marked "clip board mk2A"; the
design is virtually identical to the MXU-163/P that's in current use.
It's a particularly good design because it has a sculpted back and is
narrow enough to fit in any cockpit. It has a built-in pencil sharpener
and 3 pencil holders. There are spring clips top and bottom so it's easy
to separate VFR/IFR approach plates from the PLOG. The strap is
adjustable and slightly elasticated.
Enthusiasts (rather than pilots) may be interested that it comes with a
few instrument approach plates for Oceana NAS, Seymour Johnson AFB and
Cherry Point MCAS.
