Music in the Air - WALLOP '08!
Saturday 26th July 2008

This year heralds the return of Music in the Air, renamed “Music in
the Air – Wallop08”, which promises to be better than ever. There is
much more on offer for all visitors, from the families wanting an
exciting day out to the keen aviation enthusiast.

The day starts with entertainment by Enactment Groups and activities
for children, and an old fashioned funfair. Something not to be missed
is The Real Dad’s Army who 40 years on will still invoke havoc and
mayhem on their drill!

The most iconic part of the show is the afternoon flying display,
complimented by the Band of the Army Air Corps. The display features a
line up of stunning historic aircraft headlined by the spectacular Red
Arrows.

Yeovilton International Air Day which takes place on the 5th July 2008

RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day

Saturday 5th July 2008

The theme for RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day 2008, which takes
place on Saturday 5th July, is ‘Maritime Air’. The roles of the Royal
Navy in the 21st century include protection of sea lanes, intelligence
gathering, counter narcotics, delivering humanitarian aid,
peacekeeping and, ultimately, war-fighting. Fast approaching the 100th
anniversary of the birth of Naval Aviation, in 1909, the Fleet Air Arm
remains at the forefront of this effort. Yeovilton based Commando Sea
King and Lynx helicopters and Maritime Lynx Squadrons will feature in
the extensive flying and static display along with visiting military
and civilian aircraft, historic and modern from around the world.

I want to fly to either lannion (LFRO) or Saint brieuc Armor (LFRT) in July
(I actually need to get to paimpol and these seem the closest fields). Does
anyone have exprerience of either of these two? Will they take Light a/c?
They both have ILS and both seem commercial, but whether thats commercial as
in "Bournemouth" or "Heathrow" I don't know.
