  MLSSA measurement system on eBay

Author: Tony
Date: Jan 29, 2008 15:10

My trusty old (about 15 years) MLSSA system has to go - that's the card and
software, because the portable PC I was using for it became unreliable. It
would still be good for a speaker designer who could find an old PC with an
ISA slot, running DOS. If you don't know what it does see

Does anyone know much about this? Is anyone kicking up a stink yet? If they
ever get round to it, I'll have umpteen useless radios (two or three in
various sheds, one in every car, two attached to the hifis etc.), which is
rather worse than a couple of tellys requiring adaptor boxes. I really can't
see people being pleased at having to fork out for new car radios at £100 a
pop. Or the pretty much sure to happen increase of desirable to DAB radios
to car theives...

Odd that a cable like this is needed to extract the best from the old 2.5mm
t&e!
They could extend the ring main into the amp and save a packet.........

Hi Folks
...as it implies, am looking for quality "in ear monitors" here in the
UK.....just the earpieces! Am told that the Westone UM2 is excellent,
but what else competes with these?

Thanks

  The Schumpeter Solution

Small is also beautiful. The small is the genesis of the large.

It's funny that some cannot grasp this fundamental concept with single
ended triode (SET) amps. We routinely build preamps and voltage
multipliciton stages of triodes operating single-ended, and the
diehards who with a convulsive kneejerks reject any amp without a push-
pull power stage will be the last to let go of the single-ended gain
stage, yet they cannot see that the small signal stage is a template
for the sweetest power stage.

What is sauce of quail must be sauce for the goose and the gander too.

Very difficult to understand how some people think.

  DAB aerial

Author: Dave Plowman (News)
Date: Jan 21, 2008 05:20

Just come back from my local B&Q by Wandsworth Bridge, and notice they
have DAB aerials in their 'one pound' section.

It's an external mount folded dipole type with F-type connector on the
aerial. Complete with wall mounting and 10m cable.

Not the highest quality I'm sure but maybe the best value anywhere?
