  Hard-drive based "cd multichanger" ?

Author: Mike
Date: Feb 27, 2008 03:20

Hi,

I'm trying to find a device like a hard-drive based "cd multichanger"
which has the same interface as a normal multichanger so it can
replace the one I have but which will allow me to copy my entire music
collection to it in the form of a bunch of directories containing MP3
encoded music albums.

Does anyone know if such a system exists ?

Many thanks,

Mike Davies

Ford RDS Radio model 2007 (year 2001) wiring please?

Author: Darren B

Just bought this radio from a scrappie but obviously the wiring is
still in the car they scrapped. It has an 8 pin straight plug socket,
and then what looks like a very large USB slot. Any idea how I should
wire this up direct to the pins, I only need power, earth and two
speakers.

I had a look at some other Fords in the yard but none of the plugs
appeared the same as was needed here?

Any ideas folks?

TIA

  Volvo 440 ACC Issue

Author: Bob
Date: Feb 21, 2008 02:35

Has anyone on here every installed an after market head unit in a Volvo
440...? I inherited one and am having issues after replacing the tape
deck that came with the car.

The head unit comes on when I switch the ignition to I, but doesn't
select a source. It also switches off when I turn the ignition off,
only if I haven't selected a source. If it's playing a CD or the
radio, it just stays on when I switch the ignition off.

Any ideas...?

Thanks.

If I were you, I'd just use MP3 CDs instead of fitting a changer - you
should be able to get 10 CDs worth of music onto one MP3 CD, if you're happy
with the standard head unit. OTOH I had one as a hire car and couldn't abide
the standard radio, so I'd swap the whole lot for a new head unit and
changer...

Watch out for the blind spots at either side of the car too :D.
