Every body Pauses and stares at me
These two teeth are gone as you can see
I don't know just who to blame for this catastrophe!
But my one wish on Christmas Eve is as plain as it can be!
All I want for Christmas
is my two front teeth,
my two front teeth,
see my two front teeth!
Gee, if I could only
have my two front teeth,
then I could wish you
"Merry Christmas."
It seems so long since I could say,
"Sister Susie sitting on a thistle!"
Gosh oh gee, how happy I'd be,
if I could only whistle (thhhh, thhhh)

Just visited my local stockist and bought six "flame Danios". It's
very small with a flame red/orange stripe along its flanks.
I've searched the web but haven't found anything specific about this
variety - is it a new one?

In my local store I was trying to work out costs for an airpump (Tetra
APS50) and undergravel filter, airline, connectors, valves, etc.
The saleman suggested that for my small tank (16"x8"x8") it might be
better to opt for an internal power filter such as the Interpet PF1,
which would work out cheaper, save space, and give sufficient
aeration. He also said that if airflow is too strong it can affect
plant growth because it forces out CO2, so a small internal power
filter would be better.
Does this sound right?

I need to buy a new lighting unit for my RIO 180. Bummer as I do not have
the receipt and it is only about 15 months into a 24 month warranty!
I see that there are T5 units now, although they are more expensive as you
also have to buy the dearer tubes as well.
Is it worth going down that route? I grow plants, but they have fared OK
(not fantastic but OK) so far. I get rather a lot of hair algae so with the
stronger lighjt would that be worse?
Any advice gratefully received, thanks
julie

Two questions regarding air pumps:-
I notice that some older books mention diaphragm air pumps can be
noisy and that rotary/piston air pumps are much quieter. I would have
thought that modern diaphragm air pumps should be reasonably quiet, at
least in small tanks. As I have sensitive hearing I am concerned if
modern diaphragm pumps are now quieter. Is this true nowadays – are
they acceptably quiet?
(when I asked at my local stockist the assistant said he had his
aquarium in his bedroom that uses a diaphragm air pump and he could
hardly hear any noise, but then he was trying to sell me one of those
pumps).
Any general guidance to look out for – size/cost/models?

How are fluorescent light tubes measured:-
1) to the ends of the tubes, excluding the electrical pins
2) including the electrical pins
3) including fitted end caps
Can someone please clarify?
Thanks

Hi
I'm about to set up my first tropical freshwater tank and need to get
an idea of available types of supplies and prices.
After googling for online suppliers I've noticed that those I have
found all have pretty photos of their tanks and shops but none
actually have a decent online catalogue or online shopping facilities.
Can anyone please suggest some good online retailers, for items such
as airlines, filters, etc.,
preferably those that stock more than the common systems such as
juwel, etc.
Thanks

I normally buy Tetramin or Aquarian for my tropicals, but I just noticed
that Wilkinsons do an own-brand flake for about 1/4 the price. Anyone tried
it?
