lol..who didn't see that coming?
And how neatly it criminalises men, given that it won't be the selling
of sex that is made unlawful. I don't think it will stop women from
selling sex...what else are they going to do if that's al they have
ever done for a living? It will just result in men being turned into
cirminals.
Has anyone asked protitutes what they think of this 'idea'?

It is an odd state of affairs. After all if you take the prossie off the
street then you solve scores (pun not intended) of crimes that night in one
fell swoop. Instead they leave the honeypot and prosecute all the Johns
instead.
I think the real reason they are taking this approach is cos everyone in
"the system" knows they'd rather have slags selling blow jobs for their
heroin money than have them commit burglaries instead. I know I certainly
would, the only people who disagree are the people who live in the affected
areas.

It certainly seems a very stupid reform. It seems to be characteristic of
governments that when they can't cure the real problems faced by society,
they make a token gesture that makes it look as if they are doing something
useful. Bring back the Cones Hotline! Maybe we could have a Prostitution
Hotline so that the police could spend all their time chasing from one
street to another to arrest punters - most of whom will be well off,
respectable individuals who do nobody any harm and who have no wish to
exploit any unwilling victims of the sex trade.

being able to pay you?" :-)

No. That would be "That was the best sex ever, my dear. Now shall I take you
to A and E to have your stomach pumped?"
Well, around here it would!

She said there needs to be a debate and that it's her view. It isn't the
government's view AFAICS.
