Youngest daughter's pet Gerbil - she's had him over 4 years...so it's had a
good innings (in Gerbil years)
We had a pair...(you need to keep them in at least pairs as they're sociable
creatures) but the other died suddenly a few months back.
Now this one's giving up the ghost!
I'm not sure if he's in pain though....or just peacefully dying of old age.
Doesn't seem to be in any pain (do Gerbils make noise then in pain?)
Not eaten or drunk for 2 days....just curled up in corner of cage - not
opening eyes - not trying to move - not interested in anything - flinching
from all contact etc....very rappid breathing but no noise at all.
Tried eye-dropper with water ....and soft milky oats to try to get him to
eat....but he's just not interested
He just seems to be shutting down....occasional twitches...

Israel evicts more West Bank families
The Israeli army is forcing more Palestinian families out of their
homes in the West Bank Tubas area, where Tel Aviv has set up a "closed
military zone."
Israeli forces on Sunday delivered 10-day eviction orders to five
Palestinian families in two villages in the Jordan Valley, Ma'an news
agency reported on Monday.
The orders came days after Israeli settlers put up an illegal outpost
on the families' lands and took over the only water well in the area.
Locals say patrols of Israeli forces were sighted in the villages
since Sunday, "breaking into people's homes around the clock" as one
resident described, and delivering notices that families must evacuate
because the area is a "closed military zone."
The eviction will render 50 people homeless, according to Abdallah
Bisharat, a town council member from the village of Atuf.
Bisharat warned the move would be "devastating" for the Palestinian
families in question, who live off their lands.

Everyone over 18 (more of less) has the vote, serfdom is gone and the
monarch doesn't go around randomly executing people.
