Man shot and killed near vigil for slain son

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A father was killed by gunfire Tuesday night after
attending a prayer vigil in honor of his dead son who was shot and killed
just days before.

Family members say Dwight Hardy, 34, had just attended a "stop the violence"
vigil for his son, 16-year-old Kendrick Pope. Pope was slain last week
behind the old Jefferson Montessori School on North Euclid Avenue. Tuesday
would have been his 17th birthday.

Tuesday night's shootings happened just before 7 p.m. in the 1200 block of
Catalpa Drive near Cambridge Avenue. Police found Hardy and another man shot
inside a vehicle.

The other victim, believed to be 23 years old, was taken to a local hospital
suffering from gunshot wounds to his leg and shoulder. His name and
condition have not been released.

Residents in the neighborhood said they want the violence to stop.

"It's scary out here. You can't even walk your streets anymore. You can't
even open your doors, and they are shooting at random. All those gunshots
out here, no telling how many people could've got shot," said resident Toni
Rutledge.

ATF lost dozens of weapons, laptops, audit shows
a.. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives lost 76 weapons,
report says

b.. 35 of those were stolen, including two later used in crimes, says
inspector general

c.. ATF can't account for 418 laptops; many could hold classified
material, report says

d.. ATF says it's changing its procedures for dealing with missing
weapons, laptops

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
said Wednesday it is changing its ways after an audit showed that the agency
was losing guns and laptops, often through carelessness.

According to a Justice Department audit released Wednesday, the inspector
general reported the ATF was unable to account for 76 weapons and 418
laptops over the past five years.

The report said the rate of loss had tripled since the last audit was
conducted by the ATF's then-parent agency, the Treasury Department.

"It is especially troubling that ATF's rate of loss for weapons was nearly
double that of the FBI and DEA," the report said.

The filthy murderous pig ...

UPDATE: Chicago Cop Shoots His 2 Kids; Kills Himself, Daughter

CHICAGO (WBBM/AP) -- An 8-year-old girl was shot and killed, her
12-year-old brother was critically injured and their father, a Chicago
Police officer, suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound during barricade
situation on the Southwest Side Monday.

Chicago Police said the shootings stemmed from a domestic dispute between
the officer and his wife, but they would not elaborate. They would not
release the name of the officer, saying only that he was 31 years old and
had been with the department about four years.

Department spokeswoman Monique Bond said police responded to a ``shots
fired'' call at the officer's home in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the
city's southwest side at about 10:45 a.m.

When officers arrived, a woman outside told them that there were children in
the one-story brick house and that she'd heard shots.

``You could hear moans from within the residence,'' said First Deputy
Superintendent James Jackson.

Another uneducated and gullible right wing boor rears his ignorant head.

Not surprising that www.frontpagemag.com is run by a raving former communist

you, enjoys spreading falsehoods to the ignorant right wing masses who
consider anyone with more than a high school education to be an 'elitist'.

Fascism, Nazism and Conservatism

European fascism drew on existing anti-modernist conservatism, and on
the conservative reaction to communism and 19th-century socialism.
Conservative thinkers such as historian Oswald Spengler provided much
of the world view (Weltanschauung) of the Nazi movement.

By Associated Press
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - The father of a 4-year-old Cottage Grove boy says his
child loaded a bullet into a borrowed gun and accidentally shot himself.

In a statement released Monday through Oregon Health & Science University in
Portland, Travis Davis said his son, Bryce, is doing remarkably well.

Doctors removed the bullet, which had slightly penetrated his skull.

Officials report the boy in good condition at Doernbecher Childrens Hospital
in Portland.

Davis said that doctors believe there will be no permanent effects from the
wound, even though it was serious.

The gun was unloaded, but the boy found a smaller bullet that was the wrong
size, and it still fired when loaded in the gun.

Heil Hitler.

We Aussies liked being butt fucked and most white Aussies support white
affirmative action because it is the only way we can compete with industrious
and hard working immigrants.

I hate muzzies because they brutally and repeatedly anally raped me during
the 8 years I spent in prison for producing and peddling child pornography
and now I make a living by selling my ass and mouth on the streets.

My ass still bleeds to this day.

The International Coalition for Women in Shooting and Hunting (WiSH) have
issued the following release: Media Release September 4 2008

Study: Australia's Gun Laws Had No Tangible Effect

The International Coalition for Women in Shooting and Hunting (WiSH) have
welcomed the release of a Melbourne Institute discussion paper investigating
the effects of Australia's 1996 firearms legislation.

The authors applied a range of different statistical tests to data spanning
the years 1915-2004. They did not find evidence of an impact of the 1996 gun
laws on firearm homicide or firearm suicide.

The report concludes that "the high expenditure incurred to fund the 1996
gun buyback has not translated into any tangible reductions in terms of
firearm deaths."

"Yet again, research shows that the half billion dollars spent on destroying
legally owned firearms did not deliver the promised public health and safety
outcomes," said WiSH Chair Dr Samara McPhedran.
