If I don't see a new post on this group I will finally give up on it and unsubscribe.
As this was my first newsgroup and used to be so good back in the day this is the end of an era.
There are now better ME support groups in Facebook and I'll use what little energy I have there.
[ Cultural Dwarfs and Junk Journalism: Ben Goldacre,
quackbusters and corporate science, is available from the
Slingshot Publications web site as a free download, from
mid-day on Wednesday January 2nd.
To be effective as a campaigning document, it is important
that this book is distributed far and wide as quickly as
possible. Please forward this publication information together
with the Slingshot Publications web site address.

Happy new year !
I got confused in my other post. I'm spencerprimate on MySpace and
Spencer Spindrift on Facebook here:-
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=708107251.
I love Usenet but wonder if there is any point in keeping UPSCM alive as
we all seem to be migrating to web based groups?

I may have removed myself from her friends but I keep her page going as an experiment. I did find the ME Support group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6572206334

I got it sorted now.

It's a usenet-wide problem Spencer. The only groups that still seem
strong on usenet are the computing/techie/Linux ones. I think the problem
is that there's now a generation who seem to have no knowledge of usenet.
Given how clunky forums and other web-based interfaces are for simple
text based opinion & info this seems something of a regression. Usenet is
plain & simple and all the better for it. Less is indeed more. But at
this rate it will soon be extinct outside of IT and academia...
Happy New Year
Barry

I think you are right but there are still other groups thriving.
The alt.drugs...heirarchy in particular is going strong.
I have found friends on alt.drugs.psychedelics and new medicines which
help with ME symptoms on alt.drugs.smart.

Hi Spencer, hope you're ok.
Usenet would be much better off without the binaries for which it was
not designed.
